Description
Why We Recommend Elephant Villa 5
Elephant Villa 5 is the second two-bedroom retreat in the Elephant Villas collection, set in central Ubud near Jalan Bisma. Like its sibling Villa 4 next door, it offers 170 square metres of living space and 200 square metres of tropical garden with a private pool. Low season rates start at US$204 per night — US$102 per bedroom — with daily housekeeping, pool maintenance, and gardening included.
The villa has its own distinct character while sharing the same high-quality finishes as Villa 4. The enclosed living room with Smart TV and streaming services opens onto the pool and garden, and the fully equipped kitchen with toaster allows for relaxed self-catering. Both bedrooms are air-conditioned with ensuite bathrooms, safety boxes, and generous wardrobe space. A pool fence, baby cot, and high chair make it family-ready.
Being in central Ubud means Ubud Palace, the Monkey Forest, art galleries, and dozens of restaurants are all within walking distance. For those exploring further afield, scooter hire is available at US$10/day and car with driver at US$80/day. Massage services can be arranged in-villa for US$25.
Our Favourite Features
- Central Ubud location near Jalan Bisma — walkable to Ubud Palace, the Monkey Forest, Campuhan Ridge Walk, and the best restaurants in town. This is prime Ubud, not a remote hillside villa.
- Private pool in a garden setting — the pool and 200 sqm garden provide a private oasis in the middle of Ubud. Pool fence included for families with young children.
- Can combine with Villa 4 as a 4BR estate — the adjacent Elephant Villa 4 is identical in layout. Book both as the Elephant Villa Estate for groups of up to 10, with two pools and four bedrooms across two independent villas.
- Transparent add-on pricing — scooter US$10/day, car with driver US$80/day, massage US$25, laundry US$5. No hidden charges or inflated concierge markups.
- Enclosed living room with streaming — the air-conditioned living area with Smart TV and streaming services is a comfortable retreat after a day exploring Ubud’s temples and rice terraces.
Good To Know
- Self-catering villa — there is no chef or meal service included. The kitchen is fully equipped with toaster and cooking essentials, and Ubud has excellent affordable restaurants within walking distance.
- Two staff only — daily housekeeping and garden/pool maintenance are covered, but this is a more independent setup than fully-staffed beach villas. That said, massage and laundry can be arranged at very reasonable rates.
- No beach access — Ubud is inland. The nearest beach (Sanur) is about 45 minutes by car. This villa is for guests who prefer culture, nature, and rice terraces over sand and surf.
- Street parking — parking is on the street, standard for central Ubud. The villa compound is set back from the road for privacy and quiet.
- Stacking discounts available — 5% off for early booking (90+ days), 10% off for 7+ night stays. These can stack, making longer stays in Ubud very affordable.
