Chalina Estate occupies a rare position among Bali’s luxury rentals. Spread across 5,300 square metres of landscaped gardens in Pererenan, it borders the Pangi River on two sides, creating a sense of seclusion that belies its proximity to Canggu’s restaurant and surf scene. The estate’s centrepiece is a 35-metre swimming pool flanked by sun loungers and a floating gazebo used for spa treatments, while the surrounding grounds are filled with coconut palms, frangipani trees, lily ponds and cascading waterfalls. A converted study offers a twin-bedded room for children, while the bunk room sleeps up to ten, making it ideal for families travelling together. Every room has air conditioning, blackout curtains and a flat-screen television.

The entertaining spaces are where Chalina Estate truly excels. The 250-square-metre open-sided living and dining pavilion sits beneath an alang-alang thatched roof, cooled by ceiling fans and anchored by a large wooden dining table. Adjacent to this is an air-conditioned lounge bar fitted with a Bose sound system that feeds music through the garden areas, two terraces for cocktails, and a media room that converts into a cinema with oversized daybeds. For events, the sloping lawns accommodate 80 guests seated or 120 standing, with views stretching across neighbouring rice paddies to the volcanic ridgeline beyond. The in-house chef prepares both Western and Asian cuisine, and six trained butlers rotate through morning, dinner and evening shifts to keep everything running smoothly.

Location is another strength. Pererenan Beach is a five-minute walk away, Echo Beach and its surf breaks sit roughly 1.3 kilometres to the south, and the cafes and boutiques along Jalan Pantai Batu Bolong are a ten-minute drive. Tanah Lot temple and the Nirwana golf course are both within fifteen minutes by car. A complimentary car and driver for eight hours each day is included in the rate, so exploring the wider Canggu area and beyond is straightforward.
