Sri Lanka’s south coast begins where the expressway from Colombo runs out of road, and a different tempo takes hold. There is luxury here, but it wears local cloth. The finest experiences tend to be the simplest: a seafood curry prepared by your villa’s cook from the morning’s harbour catch, the green flash of sunset watched from a salt-rinsed terrace, the sound of the Indian Ocean carrying you into sleep.
