Villa Kinaree (4 Bedrooms)
Why We Recommend Villa Kinaree (4 Bedrooms)
There are plenty of four-bedroom villas in Seminyak, but very few occupy an address as coveted as Gang Kresna in the Oberoi district – a quiet residential cul-de-sac that places you 250 metres from Seminyak Beach and a two-minute walk from Ku De Ta. Villa Kinaree makes the most of that location without relying on it. The architecture alone sets the tone: traditional Javanese joglo and limasan pavilions built from reclaimed teakwood, topped with alang-alang thatch roofing and connected by ironwood decks that wrap around the 12-metre saltwater swimming pool. Two wings face one another across landscaped tropical gardens, creating a sense of space and privacy that belies the villa’s proximity to one of Bali’s busiest dining strips. Eat Street is a five-minute stroll away, yet from the poolside bar you would never know it.
What genuinely distinguishes Villa Kinaree is the staffing. A team of 13 to 15 full-time Balinese staff – including a dedicated butler, two resident chefs, a villa manager, housekeepers, gardeners and night security – delivers a near two-to-one staff-to-guest ratio. Breakfast is complimentary each morning, prepared by the chefs who are also available for lunch and dinner at food cost plus a modest surcharge. Airport transfers are included, a welcome drink and fruit basket greet you on arrival, and a concierge service handles restaurant bookings, day trips and spa appointments. Long-time staff member Wayan has earned a reputation among returning guests for remembering individual names and preferences across multiple visits – the kind of quiet, attentive service that turns a villa stay into something closer to a private boutique hotel.
The master suite occupies the entire upper floor of the bedroom pavilion and is one of the most impressive rooms we have seen at this price point. A king-size canopy bed sits on polished teakwood floors, with a spacious walk-in dressing room to one side and a private balcony overlooking the pool and gardens on the other. The ensuite bathroom features a double Jacuzzi spa bath and rain shower. Downstairs, bedrooms two and three share a corridor and work well for families with younger children, each with king beds and ensuite monsoon showers. The fourth bedroom doubles as a media room, fitted with a 55-inch flat-screen television, surround sound and a deep sofa – a practical retreat for teenagers or anyone wanting a quieter evening in while the rest of the group gathers around the pool table.
The outdoor living areas are where Villa Kinaree truly comes into its own. The covered entertaining space centres on a 7-foot slate-bed pool table, a full bar with glass-fronted refrigerator and deep outdoor sofas – all set beneath ceiling fans and overlooking the pool’s cascading waterfall. A fully equipped European-style kitchen and a formal dining table seating eight to ten guests complete the picture. For larger groups, the adjacent six-bedroom Villa Kinara can be combined to create a ten-bedroom estate sleeping up to 20, making this an excellent base for weddings, celebrations or multi-family holidays.
At around $191 per room per night in low season, Villa Kinaree offers a rare combination of heritage Balinese architecture, serious staffing and a location that most Seminyak villas cannot match. Whether you are planning a family holiday, a friends’ getaway or a celebration that might spill over into the neighbouring estate, it is a property that consistently delivers more than its rate suggests.
