Villa Tranquil Residence 1
Why We Recommend Villa Tranquil Residence 1
Tucked into the hillside above Lamai in the Maret district, Tranquil Residence 1 is the most intimate of the three apartments in the Tranquil Sea View Residence — a one-bedroom retreat purpose-built for couples who value privacy, views and design over square footage. The 180-degree panorama of the Gulf of Thailand unfolds from the covered balcony, where a private hot tub sits at the edge of the frame, heated and ready for a soak at any hour. It is a quietly romantic setup: the ocean to the horizon, a drink on the tub surround, and nobody to share it with but each other.
The apartment covers 36 square metres of internal space — compact on paper, but cleverly worked. The open-plan living, dining and kitchen flows as a single room anchored by a long counter-bar that doubles as casual seating for two, a large sofa and widescreen TV filling the living end, the whole finished in an airy all-white palette with natural wood and rattan accents. The separate king bedroom opens directly onto the balcony through its own door, so you wake to ocean views without crossing the living area, and the en-suite is fitted with a walk-in rain shower in keeping with the contemporary minimalist style.
What lifts it beyond a standard holiday apartment is the service folded into the rate: a manager fluent in English, French and Chinese handling airport transfers, scooter rentals, restaurant recommendations and island excursions, daily housekeeping and 24-hour security included, and a private chef bookable to cook on the balcony table for four — touches usually reserved for full-sized villas at several times the rate. Lamai Beach is five minutes below, Silver Beach — a sheltered snorkelling cove with far fewer crowds — about the same, the Lamai Night Plaza within a short hill descent, Chaweng fifteen minutes north and the airport twenty.
What Makes It Special
A private hot tub
heated and oriented to the Gulf on the covered balcony, an intimate spa with a 180-degree panorama
Magazine-worthy interiors
an all-white palette with wood and rattan accents, a calm atmosphere that belies the modest rate
A personal concierge
a multilingual manager arranging transfers, rentals, bookings, tours and a private chef, at no extra cost
Wake to the ocean
the king bedroom opens straight onto the sea-view balcony, mornings beginning with the Gulf, not a corridor
A kitchen for two
a fully equipped modern kitchen with counter-bar, practical for breakfasts and light meals
Two beaches nearby
Silver Beach and Lamai Beach both five minutes by car, with the Lamai Night Plaza within walking distance
Before You Book
A couples’ retreat
36 square metres and one king bedroom, ideal for two but not suited to families or groups
Hillside setting
above the beach rather than on it, so a scooter or car is essential; free private parking on site
Within the complex
part of the three-unit Tranquil Sea View Residence; the larger Residences 2 and 3 suit those wanting more space
Dining
a private chef cooks for a fee plus groceries, well worth it for a balcony dinner
Minimum stay
seven nights across all seasons, best for week-long holidays rather than short breaks
Airport
about thirty minutes each way, arranged in advance so transport is waiting on arrival
