Laemsingh Villa 5 sits high on the headland between Surin and Laem Singh beaches, in a small gated estate of boutique villas, and its terraces look straight down over the curve of Surin Bay. Soaring timber roofs, walls of sliding glass and floors of cool terrazzo and warm cherry wood give it the feel of a modern Thai pavilion house, open to the sea breeze. Surin Beach is around a ten-minute walk away, close enough for an early swim and back for breakfast.

Outside, an eighteen-metre infinity pool runs along the edge of the terrace and seems to spill into the bay below, with sun loungers lined up on the deck and a shaded sala with a daybed for lazy afternoons or a poolside massage. A balcony above catches the last of the light at sunset. Indoors, the vaulted, air-conditioned lounge has glass on three sides, deep sofas and a large smart TV, and leads to an indoor dining table with sea views and a sleek kitchen with a coffee machine, double-door fridge, oven and dishwasher.

The house spans three floors, and all four bedrooms have king beds and their own bathrooms finished in natural stone. The master suite has the top floor to itself, with a sitting area, a large bathtub and a twelve-metre balcony facing the ocean. The second bedroom has a sunken bath and views over the pool to the bay, and a ground-floor room opens onto a quiet garden terrace beside a dramatic stone wall. A villa manager and team look after daily housekeeping, the pool and gardens, a private gym keeps routines going, and airport transfers are included.
