Luxury Villas in Hua Hin

Thailand's original royal seaside resort, a relaxed beach town on the Gulf of Thailand within an easy drive of Bangkok.

Neighbourhood Guide

Why Stay in Hua Hin?

Hua Hin has been Thailand’s favourite seaside escape for almost a century. The Thai royal family built a summer palace here in the 1920s, and the town still has a gentle, well-kept feel that sets it apart from the busier islands. A long, pale beach runs for several kilometres along the Gulf of Thailand, backed by seafood restaurants, old teak houses and a handful of grand hotels, and the sea is generally calm and shallow for much of the year.

Beyond the beach, Hua Hin is known for its golf, with several championship courses within a short drive, and for its lively night markets, where stalls of grilled seafood, Thai sweets and local crafts fill the streets each evening. Khao Takiab, the hill at the southern end of the main beach, has a hilltop temple and wide views over the bay, and to the south the coast continues through quieter Khao Tao towards Pranburi and the limestone peaks of Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park.

Villas in and around Hua Hin range from contemporary pool homes a few minutes from the beach to larger, tranquil retreats set among gardens on the edge of town. Space is generous here compared with the islands, so private pools, wide lawns and indoor-outdoor living are the norm, and the town’s restaurants, markets and golf courses are rarely more than a short drive away.

Hua Hin suits families, couples and golfing groups looking for a relaxed beach holiday without a flight to an island. It is usually around three hours by road from Bangkok, which makes it an easy add-on to a city stay, and the climate tends to be drier than much of southern Thailand.

Practical Info

Planning Your Hua Hin Stay

Best Time to Visit

November to February is cool, dry and sunny, and the most popular time to visit. March to May is the hottest period. Showers are more frequent from around September to November, but Hua Hin sits in one of the drier parts of the country and rarely sees prolonged bad weather.

Getting There

Most guests arrive through Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang airports and continue by road, a journey of around three hours. Private transfers are the simplest option. Hua Hin also has a historic railway station and a small domestic airport with limited services.

Getting Around

The town centre and beach are compact, but most villas sit a short drive from the sea, so a car with a driver, taxis or ride-hailing apps are the easiest ways to get around. Golf courses, Khao Takiab and Pranburi are all within easy reach by car.

Where to Eat

Hua Hin is famous for fresh seafood, served everywhere from simple pier-side restaurants to elegant beachfront dining rooms. The night markets are a highlight, with stalls of grilled seafood, noodles and Thai desserts. Many villas can also arrange a private chef for dinner at home.
