Casa 24A

Casa 24A is the taller half of a pair, and the ceiling height is what you notice walking in — the living room runs up two full storeys to a pitched white void, with an arched niche cut into the end wall and a single woven pendant hanging in all that space. It gives a compact two-bedroom villa a sense of volume that most do not attempt.

The courtyard is arranged around a plunge pool set against a deep arched alcove, with a daybed tucked into the shade at one end and a stand of cactus along the boundary. Glass doors fold back so the living room and the water become one space. A white marble island kitchen with rattan-topped stools sits under the mezzanine, with a round timber table beside it.

Two bedrooms sit behind arched timber doors, and the bathrooms are the surprise: sage-green tile floor to ceiling, brass tapware and backlit arched mirrors, warm and a little theatrical against all the white. Its sisters Casa 24B and the combined Casa 24AB share the same plot, so larger groups can take more than one. Pererenan Beach is a five-minute drive.
