Ceylo Villa

Ceylo Villa is a gracious colonial-style residence near Bentota on Sri Lanka’s south-west coast, its whitewashed walls and terracotta-tiled roofs set in wide lawns ringed by coconut palms. The house is a short walk from the beach across the road, close enough for morning swims and sunset strolls while staying tucked away from the bustle. With seven en-suite bedrooms for up to eighteen guests and a team of eight staff, it is a superb choice for extended families, multi-generational holidays and groups of friends taking the whole house.

Outdoors, a sparkling pool is framed by a timber deck with sunloungers and orange umbrellas, and a poolside dining area makes the most of warm evenings. A covered veranda with a high timber roof and woven pendant lights runs along the garden, with dining tables and comfortable seating looking out over the greenery. At the heart of the house, an open courtyard with a long reflecting pool brings light and calm to the surrounding rooms, and the spacious lawn gives children plenty of room to play.

Inside, the living and dining areas pair high ceilings and timber beams with polished floors, antique furniture and colourful contemporary art, and smart TVs and a streaming service are on hand for quiet nights in. All seven bedrooms have king-size beds, most of them four-posters, with air conditioning, TVs and private bathrooms, and some have seating areas and freestanding baths. Daily breakfast is included, lunch and dinner can be ordered from the kitchen, and a dedicated spa room means massages and treatments without leaving the villa.
