Idda Villa

Idda Villa is a whitewashed colonial-style home under a terracotta roof in Ahangama, set among coconut palms close to the south coast’s beaches and surf breaks, with Midigama a short drive away. Four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms make it an easy fit for families or a group of friends sharing their time between the waves and a quiet base.

A long, sparkling pool runs alongside the house, lined with white loungers, and the dining table sits right at its edge under a covered verandah. Beyond it is a broad lawn edged with greenery, lovely for candlelit dinners in the evening, and a shaded veranda lounge with fretwork screens catches the breeze on hot afternoons.

Inside, polished concrete floors, tall carved doors and teak furniture give the rooms a timeless Sri Lankan feel. There are two living rooms, including a lounge with day sofas and a spiral staircase rising to a relaxed upstairs nook with beanbags. Each of the four bedrooms has a double bed, a TV, air conditioning and its own bathroom, including one with a traditional four-poster frame. Daily housekeeping and 24-hour security are provided, and breakfast, lunch and dinner can be cooked in-villa for an extra charge.
