Sri Villa

Sri Villa is a group of three whitewashed beachfront villas at Induruwa, just south of Bentota on Sri Lanka’s west coast, set in palm-shaded gardens that run straight down to a long, quiet stretch of sand. Taken together, Villa Nisala, Villa Sagara and Villa Araliya give nine bedrooms for up to eighteen guests, which makes the whole compound a natural fit for extended families and groups of friends who want to stay together while keeping a house each.

Life outside centres on a long swimming pool that looks directly over the beach and ocean, lined with sun loungers and framed by coconut palms and manicured lawns. Small terraces and sitting areas catch the sea breeze, and the beach in front is so lightly used that guests often say it feels like their own. Staff can set a candlelit table under the palms for dinner by the sea, and bicycles and boat trips can be arranged for days out along the coast.

Inside, high ceilings, white walls, louvred shutters and traditional Sri Lankan furniture keep the rooms bright and airy, and each villa has its own living and dining space, with a library of books and DVDs in Villa Nisala. The bedrooms are calm and spacious, most with king beds under white mosquito-net canopies and several with sea views. The villas are fully staffed with housekeepers, gardeners and security, breakfast is included, and the chef cooks Sri Lankan and international dishes from a menu, with fresh seafood a guest favourite.
