Villa Amour (Koh Samui)

Villa Amour is a crisp, contemporary pool villa tucked into the green hills behind Hua Thanon, on Koh Samui’s quieter south-east coast. Clean white walls, warm oak joinery and floor-to-ceiling glass give it a light, airy feel, while a backdrop of jungle and palms keeps it private and peaceful. Everything opens onto the pool. A long turquoise pool runs the length of the house, edged by teak loungers and a sunny terrace, and the wide glass doors of the living room slide back so the garden, the deck and the indoor spaces become one. Inside, an open-plan room combines soft sofas and a smart TV with a round oak dining table for six and a stylish kitchen with a marble-topped island, an oven and all the modern appliances, so self-catering here is a pleasure.

The three bedrooms are calm and cool, with ceiling fans, air conditioning and large windows onto the greenery. Two have generous double beds, and the third is a playful room for children, with a house-shaped single bed and a sofa bed. The bathrooms are finished in warm stone tones, with freestanding bathtubs, walk-in rain showers and twin basins in the main suite. The Red Temple and the famous Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks are within walking distance, and Lamai Beach is about a kilometre away.
