Villa Blanca Samui

Villa Blanca Samui sits high on the green hillside above Chaweng, and the first thing you notice is the view: palm tops falling away to the curve of the bay, the turquoise shallows and the small islands scattered off the east coast. It is a fresh, light-filled home in soft whites, pale stone and natural textures, with carved timber screens, rattan and woven baskets adding a gentle island touch. Up here it feels calm and private, yet Chaweng’s beach, restaurants and markets are only a short drive down the hill.

Life centres on the infinity pool, a long turquoise ribbon that seems to run straight off the edge of the hill towards the sea. Bean bags and loungers line the deck, a deep outdoor sofa looks out over the treetops, and a glass-topped dining table under a big umbrella makes breakfast with a view an easy habit. Inside, the open-plan living room opens through tall black-framed glass doors, with a generous corner sofa, a smart TV and a dining table that flows into a modern kitchen with an oven, microwave and dishwasher.

Three calm bedrooms, each with a king bed, upholstered headboard and air conditioning, suit a couple, a small family or a few friends. Several open directly onto the garden through glass doors, and the bathrooms are finished with warm brass taps, rustic timber mirrors and twin basins. A villa manager is on hand, housekeeping calls twice a week, and the gardener and pool team keep everything immaculate, while return airport transfers are included in the stay.
