Villa Bloom
Why We Recommend Villa Bloom
From the edge of Villa Bloom’s infinity pool, the land falls away in layers of palm, jungle and rice field until it meets the Bali Sea, and at dusk the whole horizon turns amber. The villa sits on a hillside above Lovina, on Bali’s north coast, in more than three thousand square metres of landscaped garden, far from the crowds of the south. It runs on solar power, and the quiet here is the kind you notice on the first morning.
The house is bright and simple, with white walls, timber roofs and an open-sided living and dining pavilion that frames the sea. Meals are served at a long table on the veranda, and the kitchen is fully equipped, but most guests hand the cooking over to the in-house chef, who is well known for vegetarian and vegan dishes. Out on the lawn, red umbrellas shade loungers beside the ten-metre pool, a stone fire pit sits further down the garden, and a yoga deck looks out over the treetops.
Bloom is a natural fit for families. The friendly team of four looks after children with real warmth, there are board games and plenty of kids’ films for the evenings, and a barbecue under the stars is easy to arrange. Lovina Beach and its early-morning dolphin trips are close by, and the Gitgit and Sing Sing waterfalls and the Banjar hot springs make easy day outings.
