Villa Bluesiam

Villa Bluesiam climbs the green hillside above Surin Beach, a sweep of white walls and glass stepping down towards the Andaman Sea. From almost every terrace the view runs straight out over turquoise water to the horizon, and the sand of Surin is only about five minutes’ walk away. With eleven king-bedded suites, it is one of the rare villas on Phuket’s west coast where a whole extended family, or several families together, can share one roof without anyone feeling squeezed.

Life outside revolves around a twelve-metre infinity pool that seems to spill into the bay, lined with loungers and shaded by a Thai-style sala. Round-bed daybeds on the upper terrace catch the breeze and the late light, and when the sun goes down the whole façade glows gold above the water. Indoors there are three separate living rooms, so there is always somewhere quiet to retreat to, plus a long timber dining table, an open kitchen with an island, and a billiards lounge facing the sea.

The extras are what make it feel like a private resort. There is a home cinema with a big projector screen, a fully equipped gym, a wine cellar and a spa room with massage beds for treatments in the villa. All eleven bedrooms have king beds and air conditioning, and many of the bathrooms have deep soaking tubs set against the window, so you can bathe while watching the sea. A team of ten staff looks after housekeeping and security, and a chef can cook every meal at home.
