Villa Boheme

Patterned cement tiles, marble countertops and a wooden ladder climbing to a sleeping loft set the tone at Villa Boheme, a three-bedroom villa in Kerobokan with a rustic, lived-in character. Antique doors, rattan pendants and whitewashed walls under exposed timber rafters give it the feel of a well-loved family home, while the open layout keeps everything breezy and connected to the garden.

The thirteen-metre pool forms the centrepiece, wrapped by timber decking, lawn and tall tropical trees, with sun loungers and wicker chairs along its edge. A shallow section makes it easy for younger swimmers, and because the living spaces and bedrooms open around the water, parents can keep an eye on things from almost anywhere. The open-sided living room has a long yellow-cushioned sofa and a hanging egg chair, the kitchen has a breakfast bar with stools, and a separate dining area sits beside the pool.

Each bedroom has a low king bed and an open-air en-suite with greenery growing beside the basin, and one includes a mezzanine with two single beds, ideal for children. Kerobokan sits neatly between Seminyak and Canggu, so beach clubs, surf breaks and restaurants are a short drive away, yet the villa itself stays calm and unhurried.
