Villa Cattleya 10 is a Thai-style family villa perched on the hillside above the northern end of Patong, with the whole curve of the bay laid out below its terraces. Steep timber-beamed roofs, glowing hardwood floors and carved stone reliefs give it real island character, while the views stretch from the beach and its green headlands right out across the Andaman Sea. It sits within a quiet residence estate of sister villas, so the bustle of Patong is close at hand but never on the doorstep.

The plunge pool runs along the edge of the terrace against a tall stone wall carved with traditional Thai figures, its blue tiles framed by the bay beyond. Nearby, a covered sala with cushioned sofas looks straight out to sea, and a sunny deck with loungers is the place to soak up the afternoon. Barbecue and teppanyaki equipment make easy work of dinners outdoors.
