Villa Cendrawasih
Why We Recommend Villa Cendrawasih
At dusk, the lights come up along the length of Villa Cendrawasih’s long blue pool and the two-storey house glows like a lantern above the lawn. It is a big, polished family home on the Petitenget and Batu Belig side of Seminyak, with the beach only a few minutes’ walk away and some of Bali’s best-known dining on the doorstep, yet the garden behind its walls stays green, open and calm.
The ground floor is one sweeping open-plan space of warm timber and turquoise cushions: deep sofas facing the pool, a long dining table seating ten, and a sleek white kitchen with an island and breakfast stools. Glass walls fold the whole room onto the terrace, where loungers and umbrellas line the water and a traditional gazebo offers shade. Elsewhere there is a rooftop terrace for sunset, a semi-open spa corner for massages, a fully equipped gym overlooking the pool and a separate media room stocked with a library of more than 250 films.
Service is the quiet strength here, with a team of nine looking after the house and a chef on hand to cook to order. Days drift between the pool, the beach and a late lunch along Petitenget; evenings end back at the villa with dinner under the lanterns. Potato Head and Ku De Ta are both close by, and Seminyak’s boutiques and restaurants are a short drive away.
