Villa Eugenia
Why We Recommend Villa Eugenia
Villa Eugenia sits on the green slopes of Cape Panwa, on Phuket’s peaceful south-east tip, with nothing in front of it but clear turquoise water and a scatter of wooded islands. It is a place where the sea sets the pace: the light changes across the bay all day, boats drift past the headland, and the deck faces east to catch the sunrise. Built in rich hardwood, stone and glass and set in more than two thousand square metres of tropical garden, it is a calm, spacious retreat for families and friends of up to ten.
The fourteen-metre infinity pool runs along a wide sun deck, with yellow umbrellas, loungers and a curtained cabana right at the glass edge, so every swim comes with the view. From there the garden steps down the hillside to a small man-made beach with shaded tables, and to a lawn with an open-air cinema screen for films under the stars. A sunrise deck is laid out for morning yoga, and inside, a soaring timber-roofed living room opens fully to the sea, alongside a long dining table, a well-equipped kitchen, a library-style media room, a gym facing the water and a table tennis table.
All five bedrooms have king beds and their own bathrooms, finished in warm wood, with several opening onto balconies over the sea and others looking into the garden. The bathrooms are a highlight, with freestanding tubs and walk-in rain showers. Breakfast is included every day, a private chef cooks lunch and dinner on request, daily housekeeping keeps the house immaculate, and an airport transfer each way is part of the stay. Panwa and Ao Yon beaches, the Khao Khad viewpoint and Chalong are all a short drive away.
