Villa Gita Segara

At the far end of the lawn at Villa Gita Segara, a timber deck sits right where the garden meets Candidasa beach, with painted jukung fishing boats drawn up on the sand and nothing but open water beyond. It is the kind of spot you return to at sunrise with a coffee and again in the evening, and it sets the tone for a house built entirely around the sea.

Between the house and the water lies a long, glittering pool framed by palms, loungers and parasols, with a covered dining terrace and a broad lawn alongside. Inside, the living room opens to the garden beneath a shell chandelier, and a separate indoor dining room sits beside a fully equipped kitchen. The master suite takes the whole upper floor, with a wall of glass facing the ocean and its own covered lounge, while three garden-level bedrooms each have a king bed and an open-air bathroom.

Candidasa is one of the calmer corners of Bali, and the coast here is made for slow days: swim straight off the beach, hire a local boat to snorkel at Jemeluk Bay, or spend an afternoon among the water gardens of Tirta Gangga and the old Taman Ujung palace. The boat pier for Nusa Penida dive trips is around twenty minutes away, and the villa team can arrange drivers, boat trips and in-villa massages.
