Villa Himmapana Grand Valley 4

Villa Himmapana Grand Valley 4 is a compact, beautifully put-together single-level villa in a small, recently built Himmapana cluster on the edge of Kamala. What sets it apart is how green it feels: the bedrooms open onto little planted courtyards and lawns, so wherever you are in the house there is a wall of palms and tropical leaves just beyond the glass. It is quiet, private and low-key, with the beach under two kilometres away.

Life here centres on the sunken sala, a generous cushioned lounge set down into the covered terrace, looking along the garden to the pool. The pool itself is a neat rectangle of almost ten metres with a pebble-lined overflow edge, loungers on the deck and a strip of lawn wrapping around the house. Indoors, the living room rises to a vaulted, timber-beamed ceiling over a wide L-shaped sofa and smart TV, and floor-to-ceiling glass slides back to merge the room with the terrace. A long dining table and a well-equipped kitchen with oven and hob sit at the other end.

Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, are all on the same level as the pool. Three have king beds and one has twin beds that join into a king, so the villa suits a family with older children or two couples sharing. Several rooms have their own small outdoor seating corners among the plants, and one opens onto an open-air bathtub in a walled garden of canna lilies and palms. Daily housekeeping, security, covered parking and an on-call shuttle to Kamala keep everything easy.
