Villa Simpatico is built around one long, bold line of water: a twenty-five-metre lap pool that runs the full length of the garden, edged by hanging greenery and a lawn dotted with bright parasols and beanbags. At dusk, with the pool lit a deep blue and the umbrellas glowing in red, green and orange, it is one of the most striking outdoor spaces in Seminyak, and a joy for anyone who likes to swim proper lengths before breakfast.
The house itself is clean-lined and contemporary, all polished concrete, timber and floor-to-ceiling glass. A long dining table seats the whole group beside the pool, flowing into a sleek kitchen with an island and a lounge with deep sofas and a built-in aquarium. Beyond that is a separate media room, where a long black-leather sofa faces a big screen set beside a glowing wall-length fish tank, the perfect retreat for film nights and slow afternoons out of the sun. Outside, a thatched poolside pavilion with stools and a couple of shaded daybeds keep everyone close to the water.
Six bedrooms with en suite bathrooms make this a comfortable choice for families or friends travelling together, with grey stone bathrooms, rain showers and a sculptural freestanding bathtub in one suite. Daily housekeeping and a villa manager look after the house, and Seminyak’s cafés, boutiques and beaches are a short walk away.
