Villa Sorano

A hanging rattan egg chair sways at the end of the deck at Villa Sorano, a bright, white-walled Umalas villa built around a central pool. Every room opens onto the water and the warm timber decking that wraps it, so the whole house feels connected: a relaxed, light-filled base for a couple, two couples or a family of four.

Inside, clean lines meet warm wood ceilings and wide sliding doors. A curved blue sofa faces a big TV in the living area, the dining table sits beside a handsome timber and black-stone kitchen with woven pendant lights, and everything looks straight out to the pool. Breakfast is part of the stay each day, and a floating breakfast in the pool can be arranged for a morning to remember.

The two bedrooms are calm and uncluttered. One has a four-poster canopy bed and a daybed for reading; the other has twin beds against a soft blue feature wall, with doors opening straight onto the pool deck. Umalas sits between the buzz of Seminyak and the easy-going energy of Canggu: brunch at Milk & Madu is under ten minutes away, the beaches are around three kilometres off, and Finns Beach Club and Sardine are close by for sunset drinks or dinner.
