Baan Benjamart

Baan Benjamart is the beachfront villa at Dhevatara Residence that lifts you above the water. Three of its four bedrooms sit in raised pavilions on the upper level, each opening onto a shared balcony terrace with long views over Bophut Bay, so the first thing you see each morning is the sea turning gold as the sun comes up over the island’s north coast.

Down at pool level, a twelve-metre infinity pool runs along the shore, with a set of steps across the water leading to a Thai-style sala, the obvious spot for an early coffee or a slow afternoon in the shade. The main pavilion holds an air-conditioned lounge, an indoor dining table for eight and a well-equipped kitchen, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that pull in the light, while an outdoor dining spot with a barbecue sits by the water. The principal bedroom is the showpiece: a four-poster bed, a dressing area and a bathroom with a soaking tub for two, a rain shower and its own little garden.

A villa manager, private chef, housekeeper and handyman look after the house, and breakfast is served every day. Fisherman’s Village, with its waterfront restaurants and shops, is a few minutes’ drive away, and kayaks, yoga mats and the barbecue grill can be set out on request.
