Baan Bon Khao Villa

Baan Bon Khao Villa is a striking white, contemporary home on the hillside above Choeng Mon, in the quiet north-east corner of Koh Samui. Terraces trimmed with bougainvillea step down through manicured lawns, and almost everywhere you stand there is a wide view over the green headlands to the sea. Choeng Mon’s sheltered beach is a short walk away, and the airport is only around five kilometres from the gate.

The star is a twenty-five-metre infinity pool that runs the length of the terrace and appears to merge with the ocean, with built-in daybeds, umbrellas and a lounging sala at the water’s edge. After dark, soft lighting turns the whole deck into something special. Inside, glass doors open from the pool to a bright living room splashed with colour, and a second lounge and a billiard room give everyone their own corner. Up on the top floor, the modern kitchen and breakfast counter look out over a garden waterfall, with a choice of dining indoors or along the breezy balcony.

The six bedrooms are large, light and minimalist, each with its own bathroom and floor-to-ceiling glass opening to a private balcony. Two have king beds, two have queens and two have twin beds that suit children or friends, and the bathrooms come with double basins and deep bathtubs. Breakfast is included, airport transfers are part of the stay, and three staff look after housekeeping and security, with a chef or babysitter on request.
