Baan Feung Fah
Why We Recommend Baan Feung Fah
A carved wooden gate is the only hint of what lies behind it. Baan Feung Fah, named for the bougainvillea that tumbles across Samui’s gardens, opens through lush tropical planting to a sea-facing infinity pool that looks along the bay towards the lights of Fisherman’s Village. After dark the water glows, and the view from the poolside sala is one of the prettiest on this stretch of the north coast.
The villa is a collection of pavilions at garden level, with the bedrooms set among the greenery. The pool-facing living pavilion has a deep L-shaped sofa, a dining table for ten and a modern kitchen with a breakfast bar, and an outdoor table under the sala makes the most of warm evenings. Teak furniture and bright tropical colour run throughout, and every bedroom has its own Smart TV, safe and ensuite with a rain shower.
The master suite takes the sea view, with a canopied four-poster bed, a dressing area and a large bathtub. Days are easy to fill: kayaks sit on the sand, the pool’s shallow end suits children, and the villa manager can sort out tours, transport and spa appointments while the private chef cooks Thai, Asian and Western dishes. Breakfast is included, and neighbouring Dhevatara Residence villas can be booked too for larger groups.
