Casa Bonita Villa

Casa Bonita Villa crowns a hilltop above Jimbaran, and the first thing you notice is the horizon. From the pool deck the land falls away in a sweep of green towards the sea, and at dusk the sky over southern Bali turns gold and rose while the lights of the coast flicker on below. It feels removed from the busy beach roads, yet the sands of Jimbaran, Uluwatu and Nusa Dua are all a short drive away.

The estate covers around 1,500 square metres, laid out as a series of tall, timber-trimmed pavilions around a curving fifteen-metre pool with a bubbling jacuzzi at its edge. A round, open-sided deck floats beside the water for lazy lunches, a manicured lawn rolls out to the edge of the hill, and the rooftop dining terrace is made for long sunset dinners with a near 180-degree view. Inside, the living room and dining space open onto the garden through wide glass doors or close up for cool, air-conditioned comfort, with a kitchen island, a media room, a billiard table, a gym and a sauna for slower days.

The five bedrooms are spread across the master wing and two further buildings, so families and friends each have their own corner. The master suite has a king bed, walk-in closet, private balcony and a jacuzzi tub in its bathroom, while the other rooms mix king and twin beds, all with balconies, garden or valley outlooks and en-suite bathrooms. A friendly villa team looks after the house, with breakfast included and a chef on hand for other meals.
