Cobalt Villa

Cobalt Villa sits in Digana, east of Kandy, close to the Victoria Golf & Country Resort and above the waters of the Victoria Reservoir and dam. It is a calm, low-slung house wrapped in mature trees and bamboo, with ochre walls, stone steps and courtyard gardens that give it a real sense of seclusion. Three bedrooms suit a small family, two couples or a group of golfers, and the cool hill-country air makes it a comfortable base for exploring Kandy.

The heart of the house is a long private pool running beside the lawn, framed by trees and big boulders, with a shaded terrace alongside for breakfast and lazy afternoons. Paths lead through leafy gardens and small courtyards, and the surrounding hills offer scenic walks, with the reservoir and dam a short way off for wider views of the mountains.

Inside, the living and dining rooms are tastefully furnished with a mix of modern and traditional pieces, local art and antiques, and large glass doors open onto the pool and garden. There are two double bedrooms and one twin, all air-conditioned with their own bathrooms, and the rooms look out through wide windows onto the greenery. Breakfast and daily housekeeping are included, with lunch and dinner available on request.
