Villa Moon sits within the gated Katamanda estate, the leafy hillside enclave between Kata and Kata Noi, where security at the gate and mature tropical gardens keep everything calm and private. It is a single-level Thai-style home with a red-tiled roof, set in its own garden of bougainvillea and palms, and from the terrace the view drops over the treetops to the Andaman Sea. Kata Noi Beach is roughly 800 metres away, an easy stroll down a shady lane.

The infinity pool is the star of the show: almost eight metres long, edged with loungers and day beds, and lined up perfectly with the sunset over the bay. A covered terrace beside the water holds a dining table for six, so lunch can drift into a swim and supper into a starlit evening by the lit pool. Inside, the open-plan living room is bright and airy, with a mix of Asian and Italian décor, comfortable sofas, a television and tall sliding glass doors that open straight onto the pool deck. The modern kitchen is fully equipped, with a breakfast counter and stools for quick morning coffees.

Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, rain shower and air-conditioning, suit a family or two couples perfectly. The master sits beside the pool with a four-poster bed and sea views from its balcony, and a twin room on the same level looks out over the garden, ideal for children. The third bedroom is set apart down a short flight of stairs, with its own terrace and garden view, giving teenagers or another couple a pleasing sense of privacy. A villa manager is on call, daily housekeeping keeps the house spotless, and the estate’s tennis court and shared pool are close at hand.
