Lotus Horizon
Why We Recommend Lotus Horizon
Set high on a Bophut hillside above the Gulf of Thailand, Lotus Horizon is a boldly contemporary villa that wrings every drop from its elevated position. Some 500 square metres unfold across multiple levels linked by open walkways and terraces, and from the moment a full-height pivoting door swings open to frame the ocean, it is clear the whole house is composed around the view. Natural stone pillars anchor the structure while floor-to-ceiling glass dissolves the line between inside and out — a choice that pays off at sunset, when the Gulf turns gold and Koh Phangan rises on the horizon.
At its heart is a soaring double-height living room, flooded with light through full-width glass doors that fold away to merge it completely with the infinity-pool terrace. An upper gallery mezzanine looks down over both living room and pool, drawing dramatic sightlines through the house. Off the kitchen, a dedicated pool-table room with ocean views is a genuine entertainment space rather than an afterthought, while the well-equipped Western kitchen and its natural-wood table make eating in easy — though Fisherman’s Village lies only about four kilometres downhill, with its seafood restaurants, street food and Friday walking market.
The four en-suite bedrooms are spread thoughtfully across the levels. Upstairs, the master takes the prime spot — a private balcony, sweeping sea views and a freestanding bathtub positioned for the panorama, genuinely one of the finest bathroom settings on the island — with a second bedroom alongside. A bright guest suite opens off the main living level, and the fourth, on the lower floor, has independent access that suits teenagers or staff with a larger group. Daily maid service, pool maintenance and airport transfers are included; Samui Airport is about eight kilometres away, so you can be poolside within twenty minutes of landing, the Big Buddha temple three kilometres east and Bophut Beach a short drive below.
