Samujana Villa 22 sits on the green hillside above Choeng Mon, on Samui’s quiet north-east tip, with one of the most generous plots on the estate: close to fifteen hundred square metres of lawn and planting wrapped around a low, flat-roofed house. Wide glass walls slide back on almost every room, so the sea and the scattered islands of the bay are always in view, and the whole place feels open, breezy and calm.

The star is a vast infinity pool, around twenty-one metres long, running along the front of the villa with a shaded timber sala floating at one end, its cushioned sofas set right above the water. Sun loungers and turquoise parasols line the deck, and an outdoor lounge with deep striped sofas sits just behind. Indoors there are two living rooms, one opening straight onto the terrace, a long dining table that seats the whole group with room to spare, and a modern kitchen with a breakfast counter.

For downtime there is a tiered home cinema with padded loungers, a billiards room, a private gym with garden views and a treatment room for in-villa massages. Six en-suite bedrooms, each with its own balcony or terrace, sleep twelve, and bathrooms come with rain showers and free-standing tubs. Daily breakfast, housekeeping and airport transfers are included, and Choeng Mon Beach is only a short drive down the hill.
