Tawantok Beach Villa 1 sits on the palm-fringed sand of Lipa Noi, on Koh Samui’s peaceful west coast, where the sea is calm and the horizon is dotted with islands. The villa is one of a pair within the Tawantok estate, set among manicured gardens with traditional Thai rooflines, and it has the relaxed, sunlit feel of a proper beach house. Fishing boats drift past in the morning, and by evening the whole coastline turns gold.
The infinity pool is the star, its blue edge lining up with the sea just beyond the palms, with loungers along the deck and a shaded sala for long lunches beside the water. A gate opens straight onto the beach, kayaks are on hand, and there is a private tennis court, shared only with the neighbouring villa, framed by palm trees. Inside, the open-plan living room rises to a high vaulted ceiling, with bright cushions, polished timber floors, a large TV and a spiral staircase climbing to a mezzanine.
Five bedrooms each have their own bathroom, four with king beds and one twin room, and the villa can also be booked with three bedrooms for smaller groups. The master suite opens towards the sea and pool, and the bathrooms are generous, with freestanding tubs and walk-in showers. Breakfast is included, daily housekeeping and a personal guest assistant look after the house, and lunch, dinner and massage can be arranged at the villa.
