The Beach Villa Cemagi

The Beach Villa Cemagi sits right on the black-sand shoreline of Cemagi, on Bali’s quieter west coast near Seseh, where rice fields meet the sea and the surf rolls in all day. A long, manicured lawn runs from the house towards the ocean, and the horizon fills the view from the pool deck, the garden pavilions and the rooftop alike. It is calm, contemporary and wonderfully spacious, with Canggu’s cafés and Tanah Lot’s famous sunsets an easy drive away.

Two private pools give everyone room to spread out. An eighteen-metre lap pool runs along the length of the garden beneath a living wall of greenery, while the beachside pool, with a shallow section for children, looks straight out to sea, its timber deck lined with cushioned daybeds. Indoors, white walls and wide glass doors keep things bright: a long dining table under woven pendants, a kitchen with a breakfast bar, a deep-sofa living room and a cosy lounge with a television and a wall of books for quieter moments.

Five bedrooms suit a big family or friends travelling together, several with draped four-poster beds and lounge seating, and each with its own bathroom featuring stone finishes, with freestanding soaking tubs and double vanities in some rooms. Up top, a rooftop lounge frames the ocean for sunset, and there is gym equipment for morning workouts. Breakfast is included daily, with a villa manager, housekeeping and gardeners looking after everything.
