Villa Aamisha

From the edge of Villa Aamisha’s thirty-metre infinity pool, the view runs a full half-circle: open ocean, a scatter of offshore islands and the green headlands of Bali’s east coast fading into the haze. The villa is perched on a hillside above the sea just outside Candidasa, and almost everything here has been placed to face that horizon, from the sofas in the living pavilion to the sunloungers on the timber deck.

The house is laid out across a wide, manicured garden, with four bedrooms set in separate buildings for genuine privacy. Two master suites look straight out to the water through walls of glass, while the two guest rooms open onto the lawn and flowering borders. Every bedroom has its own bathroom with a freestanding tub and a separate shower. The main living pavilion is a long, airy hall under a soaring timber roof, with deep sofas, a TV corner and a long dining table, and there are further lounges and an outdoor dining terrace for breakfast with the sea in view.

A dedicated team of seven looks after the villa, with breakfast included each day and a chef on hand to cook lunch and dinner, plus in-villa massages by the pool. A staircase leads down from the garden to the shore below, and central Candidasa is around six kilometres away. It is a good base for exploring East Bali, with Tirta Gangga water palace, Virgin Beach and Goa Lawah temple all within reach for a day out.
