Villa Akoya Seaview

Villa Akoya is a sleek, contemporary home perched high on the hillside above Bang Kao, in a secure private estate on Koh Samui’s quiet southern coast. From almost every room the view opens over green hills to the turquoise Gulf of Thailand and its chain of islands, framed by floor-to-ceiling glass. With natural stone walls, pale timber and soft neutral tones, it feels calm, airy and wonderfully private, a lovely base for a family or two couples.

The infinity pool stretches along the front of the villa, its edge seeming to spill straight into the view, with a row of sun loungers on the terrace beside it. Up on the roof, a vast open deck with lounge chairs and beanbags is the place to be at sunset, when the sky turns gold over the islands. Inside, the open-plan living room, long timber dining table and gleaming modern kitchen with island, oven and dishwasher all flow together, with glass doors opening onto the pool terrace.

The four bedrooms are bright and restful, with crisp white linen, warm wood and big windows facing the sea. Three have king beds and one has two single beds, ideal for children, and every bedroom has its own bathroom, finished in stone with rain showers and, in the best of them, a freestanding tub. Daily housekeeping and breakfast are included, a chef can be booked for other meals, and return airport transfers are part of the stay.
