Villa Amanora
Why We Recommend Villa Amanora
Villa Amanora is built around a single long lap pool tiled in near-black, so the water reads as a dark mirror rather than the usual bright turquoise. A living wall of ferns rises along one side and a timber deck runs the other, which makes the whole courtyard feel enclosed and green even though the villa is only a few minutes from Batu Belig beach.
Inside, the material palette is unusually restrained for a new Canggu build: rough-cut stone feature walls, solid timber joinery, pale plaster and almost no colour. The main living room runs long and low against a full stone wall, opening to a dining table under woven pendants. The kitchen behind it is properly equipped rather than decorative, which matters in a villa this size.
Five bedrooms carry timber bedheads, rattan wall discs and soft indirect light, each with its own bathroom finished in stone and microcement — curved backlit mirrors, twin basins, and in one a deep charcoal freestanding tub. Amanora is one half of a larger compound, and its neighbour Amaluna can be taken alongside it when a group needs the full nine bedrooms, so this villa suits ten travelling alone or scales up when the whole party arrives.
