Villa Amantara

A twelve-metre ribbon of turquoise water runs almost the full length of Villa Amantara’s garden, flanked by timber decking, plump sunbeds and banks of palms and red-leafed tropical planting. After dark, uplights wash the frangipani in violet and the pool glows like a lantern, a striking scene from the open living room of this four-bedroom Kerobokan home.

Inside, the layout is wonderfully easy. A long sunken-style lounge with deep grey sofas looks straight out over the water, and beside it a dining table for eight sits next to a kitchen with a stone breakfast bar, an oven, microwave and coffee maker. White walls, pale floors and bold contemporary artwork give the house a fresh, gallery-like feel, while wide openings keep the breeze moving and the garden always in view.

Each of the four bedrooms has a king bed, its own bathroom, air conditioning and a smart TV, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening onto the pool or onto small private gardens. Several bathrooms feature freestanding bathtubs framed by greenery. Kerobokan puts you between Seminyak’s restaurants and boutiques and the cafés of Canggu, with rice fields and beaches all within a short drive.
