Villa Baan Phu Prana

Villa Baan Phu Prana rises up the green slopes of Surin Hill, a grand Thai-style residence of steep, layered roofs and wide stone terraces looking west over Bang Tao Bay and Phuket’s west coast to the Andaman Sea. With nine suites over several levels, it is built for the big occasions of family life: a reunion of three generations, a milestone birthday trip or two or three families travelling together who still want a room each and a door to close.

Everything leads to the pool deck. A fifteen-metre infinity pool runs along the edge of the hill, lined with sun loungers and big umbrellas, and in the evening the sun drops straight into the sea beyond it. Beside the water, a cushioned Thai sala is the best seat for an afternoon nap, and an open terrace lounge with deep sofas looks out across the bay. Inside, the living room sits under a soaring timber ceiling with tall windows onto the view, and a long dining table seats twelve with the sea on show. Since a renovation in 2023, there is also a smart drinks counter, a lift between the levels and a quiet corner for unwinding.

The suites range from cosy rooms with balconies to spacious studio and deluxe suites with lounge areas and terraces facing the view, and several bathrooms have freestanding tubs and walk-in rain showers. A spa room for massages, a sauna and gym equipment make it easy to unwind without leaving the villa. Six staff, including a chef and villa manager, look after the house, breakfast is included, and Surin Beach with its restaurants and beach clubs is a quick drive down the hill.
