Villa Bukti Paradise

At Villa Bukti Paradise the lawn simply runs out at the sea wall, and a row of thatched pavilions with deep sofas sits right on the edge, close enough to hear the waves turning over on the shore below. This is Kubutambahan, on Bali’s north coast east of Lovina, where the water is calm, the mountains rise behind you and evenings end with the sun sinking along the coastline.

A long blue infinity pool stretches across the garden towards the horizon, ringed by loungers and shaded bales. Behind it, a broad open-sided pavilion holds a sofa lounge and a long dining table with nothing but palms and ocean in front of it. The main house adds a second living and dining room under a high timber ceiling, a fully equipped kitchen, and four bedrooms finished in carved wood and warm stone, the master opening straight onto the garden with a view of the sea.

The grounds are lush and carefully kept, with a fountain, a little stream, tall palms and plenty of shady corners for an afternoon nap. It’s a calm, unhurried base for families and couples travelling together, with daily housekeeping, round-the-clock security and home-cooked meals on request. The Air Sanih freshwater springs are only a few minutes’ drive away, and North Bali’s waterfalls, temples and village markets are all within easy reach.
