Villa Cattleya C6

Villa Cattleya C6 is a two-storey Thai-style home on the green hillside above the northern end of Patong, with a sweeping outlook across Patong Bay to the headlands and the open sea. By day the view is all turquoise water and red-tiled rooftops among the trees, and after dark the lights of the town glitter below while the villa itself stays calm and private. It suits a couple looking for a romantic hideaway, or two couples who want a characterful base within easy reach of the beach.

The upper level is where the living happens. The plunge pool sits against a softly lit wall of carved Thai reliefs, guarded by stone elephants, with bubble-jet loungers set into the shallow end and the bay spread out beyond. A covered terrace holds a teak dining table and loungers in the shade, and a small tropical garden softens the deck. Indoors, the open-plan living room has generous sofas, a daybed tucked by the window and a large television, flowing to a long dining table and a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave and washing machine.

Both bedrooms are on the lower floor, each with a double bed, air conditioning, rich hardwood floors and its own balcony. Each has an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and a whirlpool bathtub big enough for two, framed in one room by a carved stone panel. Daily housekeeping is included, airport transfers are provided both ways, and meals or a private chef can be arranged on request. Patong Beach is around 750 metres away, with its restaurants, markets and lively nightlife close by when you want them.
