Stepping stones across a koi pond lead you into Villa Damai, and from that first moment the noise of Seminyak seems to melt away. Set just off Jalan Drupadi on around 1,000 square metres of land, this three-bedroom villa is a lush, private world of thatched pavilions, palms and tropical planting, yet Eat Street and the beach are both an easy walk away.
A long twelve-metre pool runs through the centre of the garden, flanked by loungers with umbrellas and a shaded gazebo that is perfect for a massage, a book or an afternoon nap. The main pavilion, under a soaring thatched ceiling, opens through folding doors to the pool, with deep sofas and a big-screen TV, a large timber dining table for family-style meals and a well-stocked kitchen with all the essentials.
The three king bedrooms are set in separate pavilions for privacy, each with a canopied bed, air conditioning, a ceiling fan and an en-suite bathroom that pairs a bathtub with an open-air shower in the greenery. The master suite sits across the pool, reached by stone steps. A team of four looks after the villa, with breakfast, daily housekeeping and round-the-clock security included.
