Villa Ginborn
Why We Recommend Villa Ginborn
Villa Ginborn is a bright, modern home on the hillside above Kata, where white walls, polished floors and floor-to-ceiling glass frame a sweeping view over the rooftops and green hills to the sea. The road up is quiet, with no through traffic, so days here feel calm and unhurried, yet Kata Beach and its cafés, restaurants and shops are only a few minutes away. Five bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, make it an easy fit for two families or a group of friends who want space without losing that holiday-house feel.
Outside, a blue-tiled infinity pool runs along the edge of the terrace, with loungers and umbrellas set out to catch the sun and, in the evening, a sunset across the water. A covered terrace with a long dining table looks over the pool to the view, and there is a barbecue for relaxed dinners outside. Indoors, the open-plan ground floor brings the living room, dining area and kitchen together under one high ceiling, so whoever is cooking stays part of the conversation. The kitchen is properly equipped, with a large fridge with filtered water and ice, a wine fridge and a long counter with stools.
Upstairs, the master suite and its neighbours enjoy views from bed, and a glass-walled room holds a large jacuzzi tub framed by treetops. Two of the upper bedrooms connect through an inner door, which suits parents with younger children, and the twin room’s single beds can be put together as a king. Two bedrooms sit on the ground floor for anyone who prefers to avoid the stairs. The villa is self-catering at heart, with a small, friendly team on hand to help, and a chef, housekeeping, massage and transfers can be arranged.
