Villa Koh Koon

Villa Koh Koon is a hillside estate in the Chaweng Noi hills, set in around twelve thousand square metres of lawns, flowering bougainvillea and old tropical trees, with the Gulf of Thailand spread out below. Its stone-clad pavilions, soaring arches and timber shutters give it the feel of a private country retreat rather than a single house, and there is space everywhere: wide lawns for children to run on, quiet corners to read in and big open terraces facing the sea. The beaches of Chaweng Noi, Coral Cove and Chaweng are a short drive down the hill.

There are two pools. A long, slim infinity pool runs beside the main house with parasols and loungers along its edge, while a second, larger pool sits beside the lawn, framed by a row of sun loungers and a thatched pavilion with a deep sunken sofa. Beneath the stone arches, outdoor lounges look straight out to sea, a painted swing daybed hangs above the view, and an open-air screen turns the pool terrace into a cinema after dark. Inside, a double-height living room with lantern lights, a long timber dining table and a large kitchen with a central island lead out to a breezy alfresco dining terrace.

Seven bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, are spread across the estate: four with king beds, two twins and a queen, several opening onto private balconies with sea views. There is also a fun children’s room with four single beds, a billiard table, table tennis, table football and a glass-walled gym among the trees. A guest manager and a team of five staff look after the estate, with breakfast included daily, a chef for other meals and return airport transfers. Smaller groups can book the estate with five or six bedrooms.
