Villa Kyah

Villa Kyah is a cool, white-walled retreat on a quiet lane in Kerobokan, where a long turquoise pool runs through a garden bursting with frangipani, palms and flowering shrubs. It has the polish of a boutique hotel and the privacy of your own home, and Seminyak’s beaches, beach clubs and restaurants are only a short drive away.

The twelve-metre pool is the centrepiece, edged by a timber deck and sculptural white loungers, some set right into the shallow ledge of the water. Just behind it, the open-sided living pavilion catches every breeze, with plush slate-grey sofas, a TV and a pergola corner of Balinese carvings and greenery. The dining area beside it has a chunky dark-wood table with benches, and the fully equipped Western kitchen has a breakfast counter with stools. After dark, lanterns along the pool turn the garden golden.

All three bedrooms have king beds, air conditioning, a TV and their own ensuite in natural stone. Two open through wide glass doors straight onto the pool, and the third has its own private garden at the back. The master bathroom features a freestanding bathtub in a leafy open-air courtyard, while the others have tropical showers. Housekeeping six days a week, 24-hour security and a welcome drink on arrival keep things easy, and a private chef can be arranged for barbecues and dinners.
