Villa Louprana

At dusk the thatched gazebo at the end of Villa Louprana’s pool lights up like a lantern, its glow spilling across the water and a lawn crossed by stepping stones. This is a two-bedroom villa in a quiet residential pocket of Kerobokan, built around a garden thick with palms, heliconias and frangipani, and it suits two couples or a young family who want real space without rattling around in it.

The living pavilion opens wide onto an eight-metre pool edged with timber decking and sun loungers. Inside, a long sofa in soft whites and turquoise sits beside a dining table for eight and a kitchen with a breakfast bar, all under clean white ceilings. Both bedrooms have king beds and glass walls looking straight into the greenery, and the bathrooms bring the garden indoors, with planted courtyards, stone basins and a freestanding bathtub.

Daily housekeeping keeps everything in order, and a chef can be arranged for breakfasts and dinners at the villa. When you want to head out, the cafés, boutiques and beach clubs of Seminyak are a short drive away, and back home the only sound is the trickle of the pool.
