Villa Pangi Gita
Why We Recommend Villa Pangi Gita
Ironwood-shingle roofs rise out of a garden so dense with frangipani, palms and flowering shrubs that you barely notice where Villa Pangi Gita ends and the Pererenan rice fields begin. Built as a cluster of traditional Balinese pavilions on some 2,100 square metres of cascading garden beside the Pangi river, this three-bedroom villa is all high timber ceilings, carved teak and soft green light.
At its heart lies a freeform pool, some twelve metres long and shaped like a natural pond, edged by lawn, sunloungers and a wooden bale with a daybed. The open-sided living pavilion looks out over the water, while a glass-walled dining pavilion seats six for meals cooked by the villa’s chef, and an air-conditioned media room with a TV offers a cool retreat on hot afternoons. Stone steps and lantern-lit paths link it all together, and a table tennis table adds a little friendly competition.
Each bedroom sits in its own pavilion with a four-poster bed and a private verandah set with a daybed and armchairs, so couples sharing the villa each get a quiet corner. The semi-open bathrooms are a highlight, with deep tubs set among tropical plants and pebbled floors. Echo Beach and the cafes of Canggu are a short drive away, close enough for sunset and surf, far enough for peaceful nights.
