Villa Roxo

Villa Roxo is a sleek, three-level beach house of steel, glass and warm timber, wrapped in palms and tropical planting close to the long, empty sands of Natai Beach, just north of Phuket in Phang Nga. Part of a small estate of private villas, it feels secluded and calm, yet the airport is only around half an hour away. From the upper floors the Andaman Sea fills the view, and the sun drops straight into it each evening.

The star of the show is an eighteen-metre infinity pool running the length of the villa, lined with sun loungers, daybeds and rattan chairs, and glowing with lanterns after dark. A white canopied pavilion at the end of the terrace is the spot for sunset dinners, with a barbecue close by. Inside, the open-plan ground floor flows straight onto the pool, with a long dining table, hanging egg chairs, colourful contemporary art and a bright, well-equipped kitchen with an island. Downstairs there is a media room, and there are bicycles, kayaks, table tennis, foosball and board games to keep every age busy.

Five air-conditioned bedrooms are spread across the house. The two king master suites, on the upper level, have private balconies with sea views, dressing areas and bathrooms with sunken terrazzo tubs and walk-in showers. A queen room and two twin rooms complete the line-up, and the twin beds can be made up as kings on request. Breakfast is included every day, the chef cooks Thai and Western dishes, and a villa manager, housekeepers and estate security look after the house around the clock.
