Villa Sangha

Villa Sangha sits high on the hillside above Patong, on a quiet lane inside a small, secure residence compound, with a sweeping view over the whole curve of Patong Bay to the headlands beyond. By day the sea glitters below the terrace, and in the evening the sky over the bay turns pink and gold as the lights come on along the shore. It is a calm, private home base, yet Patong’s long sandy beach, restaurants and shopping are only a few minutes away.

Outdoors, a private pool runs along a carved stone wall with little fountains and Thai statues, and sun loungers line the terrace facing the bay. A large open-sided pavilion under a timber roof makes a second living room in the fresh air, with rattan sofas, cushioned armchairs and a long dining table set right on the view. Inside, the main living space on the upper floor is a lofty, open-plan room under exposed timber beams, with polished hardwood floors, a comfortable lounge, a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen, all air-conditioned and opening onto another breezy terrace.

The four bedrooms are decorated with classic Thai touches, warm wood and views out towards the sea. Two king rooms suit the grown-ups, while a twin room and a bunk room are perfect for children, and each room has its own bathroom, one with a jacuzzi bathtub. Housekeeping and the compound’s security staff look after the villa, airport transfers both ways are included, and extra services can be arranged on request. It is an easy, relaxed way to enjoy the west coast from a peaceful vantage point above the bay.
