Villa Selikur 1 is a single-storey villa that spends its whole budget on the one thing that matters in Seminyak — outdoor living. The pool runs down the centre of the plot with a broad timber deck along one side, and the living pavilion opens to it completely, so the distinction between the lounge and the terrace stops existing by the second morning.
That pavilion is furnished for actual use rather than photographs: deep charcoal rattan sofas, an oval timber dining table for six, and a kitchen behind timber slat screens that filter the light without closing the space off. In the evening the recessed lighting picks out the timber and the pool glows, which is when the villa is at its best.
Three bedrooms open directly to the deck, each with its own bathroom, arched mirrors and a freestanding tub in the main room, and woven wall discs above the beds. Its sister villa Selikur 2 stands alongside on the same plot for groups needing six bedrooms in total. The beach, the shops and the restaurants of Seminyak are a short walk, which is the whole point of the address.
