Villa Shanta

Villa Shanta is a graceful Thai-style residence on Phuket’s quiet north-west coast, a five-minute drive from the soft sand of Nai Thon Beach. Wrapped in coconut palms, bougainvillea and more than two thousand square metres of tropical garden, it feels utterly private, with glimpses of the Andaman Sea through the trees. Steep shingled roofs, polished teak and broad wooden decks give it the warmth of a traditional Thai house, while the spaces inside are open, light and generous.

The fifteen-metre infinity pool runs through the garden in front of the house, with wide sun terraces, umbrellas and loungers along its edge, and a covered outdoor lounge where you can stretch out in the shade with the sea beyond. Upstairs, timber decks with teak dining tables look out over the palms, perfect for breakfast in the breeze. Indoors, the living and dining rooms sit beneath soaring carved wooden ceilings, lined with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a fully equipped kitchen with a central island makes it easy for the chef to cook for everyone.

The four bedrooms are calm and spacious, each with air conditioning and its own bathroom, several with sitting areas and the master suite with a private balcony and sea views. The bathrooms are finished in rich glazed tiles, with deep bathtubs set beside garden windows. A dedicated massage room makes in-villa treatments easy, daily housekeeping keeps things fresh, and a personal chef can be arranged. Nai Thon, Nai Yang and the golf courses around Laguna are all within an easy drive.
